- 1917 first American troops land in France port of Nazir to start fighting in WW1
- 1944 British forces begin operation Epsom trying again to take German occupied city of Caen.
- 1967 operation Billings concluded in war zone D Vietnam Americans had killed around 350 VC with there own casualties been 57 dead and nearly 200 wounded.
