- 1916 After lessons learned at battle of Jutland the German Admiral Reinhard sent out 3 Zeplins to scout for Royal Navy to engage ,HMS Nottingham was sunk by U-boat
- 1942 operation Jubliee /Dieppe raid was a disastrous military operation where allied forces tried to attack German held port at Dieppe ,33 landing craft and 106 allied planes were lost in this operation
- 1945 August revolution by Viet Minh communist revolution party against French forces in Vietnam trying to force them out
