- 1940 Hitler signs Directive 17 ordering Luftwaffe to increase missions against Britain in preparation of operation Sea Lion
- 1942 Britains War office grouped Parachute battalions together to form The Parachute Regiment
- 1943 USSAF loose 54 bombers on a daytime attack on oil fields in Romania 178 planes took part and minimal damage was inflicted
