Around 850 private boats and 20 warships were used to evacuate our forces from Dunkirk most were civilian small cruisers and fishing boats, some were the owners themselves who bravely put there lives on the line to save our troops, around 200 boats were lost at Dunkirk over the operation.

(Adls.org.uk) the association of Dunkirk little ships,its purpose is to preserve and keep alive the “spirit of Dunkirk “ the vessels used were a combination of French ,Belgian,and Dutch and British boats comprised of fishing boats ,pleasure cruisers and commercial types and even life boats all contributed to one of the greatest moments of WW2.
