• 1918 French recapture Chateau Thierry on western front from Germans and also make progress in Ardre Valley
• 1944 US invade Japanese held Guam using Marines and Army to inflict substantial losses on Japanese military
• 1954 Geneva conference intended to settle fighting in Vietnam separating north and south with 17 pararrel with French going south and VC north however it soon splillee over into Vietnam war
