- 1943 RAF starts shuttle run bombing ,flying from England to strike Germany then flying onto N. Africa to bomb Italy and then returning back to base in England.
- 1966 US and south Vietnamese army conclude operation Hawthorne successfully against Viet Cong.
- 1967 Muhammad Ali convicted of refusing to been drafted to fight in war in Houston court.
