Story Profile

Joined straight from school into Junior Parachute Regiment, trained at Guards Depot Pirbright, then transferred to Depot Para Aldershot.  After passing out, crossed the road to Browning Barracks joining B Company 3 Para.

Enjoyed very much the gruelling training and the proud achievement of being part of this world famous regiment.

Went to USA and trained at North Carolina with 82nd Airborne and gained USA wings.

The night jump into the Joshua Tree Desert out of a jet at 130 mph was thrilling!

I ended my time in Belfast and left into civvy street with fond memories.

With life’s ups and downs, my early years in Paras has helped me to dig deep at times.

I recommend anyone to join the military, even if not for a career, just to gain valuable life experience.

I would love to hear from anyone that served in the same platoon or knew me from training depots and my time in N.Ireland.
