Pawiak Prison Museum

The reconstruction of the Prison is well worth a visit to see the hardships the inhabitants endured before many were sent to the death camps or shot in Warsaw. For 20 PLN we got an English audio guide which takes you through the museum from the model of the original buildings, to artefacts from the prisoners and contemporary articles from WW2. Each of the display cases has numbered English captions if you prefer to read. You then go pass the ticket office to see cells from the different periods of its 120 years of existence, daily life of the prisoners and original wooden branches from the metal tree out at the front of the museum.
