On this day in military history...

• 1915 battle of Festubert British and French army attack Germans in Artois region of France.
• 1940 Germans take Boulogne France pushing British expeditionary force to retreat to Dunkirk.
• 1971 in Vietnam war Major William Adams pilots his helicopter right into the middle of battle to collect three wounded American soldiers but gets shot down.  All sadly die.  He wins medal of honour posthumously.
