• 1918 French fighter ace Raoul Lufbery who had17 kills to his name was involved in a dog fight in WW1 and falls from his plane resulting in his death.
• 1941 Italian army in Ethiopia surrender to British ending foreign occupation in North Africa.
• 1966 US Airforce lose a Boing Stratotanker shortly after taking off.  It crashes into a hillside killing all crew of 6 and 4 passengers instantly.
