The Armoury Museum Tronheim

The Armoury Museum (Rustkammeret) is one of Norway’s oldest museums, founded as "The Historical Hall of Arms" in 1826. The term rustkammer originates from medieval castles, where weapons were stored and repaired. The museum is housed in the Archbishop’s Palace, which was used for military purposes for over 300 years.

Today, the exhibitions in the Field Artillery Wing offer insight into both local and national military history. The museum also provides guided tours to other military historical sites in Central Norway.
